At 12 pm of April 16th, 2015, Mr. ZHANG Yi and his companions went to the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Italy and met with Mr. Pier Paolo Baretta, Deputy Minister and other officials. Both parties have carried out the negotiation over the concrete projects of cooperation between China and Italy.

Italian officials are introducing the project of construction in Venice to Mr. ZHANG Yi

Mr. ZHANG Yi introduced the purpose of this visiting to Mr. Pier Paolo Baretta, namely, to play the role of the Commission as the bridge of connectivity and set up the platform for the cooperation between Chinese and Italian enterprises. Mr. ZHANG Yi specified the policy and action plan of One Belt and Road put forward by the Chinese government and discussed with Mr. Pier Paolo Baretta on the concrete projects of cooperation between China and Italy.

Mr. Pier Paolo Baretta expressed his thanks to the Commission’s visiting and indicted his willingness to provide the related service for the work of promoting the economic cooperation between China and Italy. He remarked, since the current economic situation of Italy was steadily improving and China has made the achievement in the world economy, which was recognized widely, there existed a great vision and huge opportunities in the multiple aspects of economy between two countries. Mr. Pier Paolo Baretta recognized the chance of development to Italy that came along with the Chinese policy of One Belt and Road and expected to fulfill the good intention between two governments through the concrete projects of cooperation. 

Mr. ZHANG Yi invited Mr. Pier Paolo Baretta to elaborate on the current situation of the Port in Venice and pointed out that according to the road map of building One Belt and Road, Venice would play an important role. Venice would be the terminal of the silk road on the land and the starting point of the maritime silk road. Venice was famous for its successful industry and robust economy, the Commission would spare no effort to recommend the projects of cooperation and the chances of development to Chinese enterprises. Mr. Pier Paolo Baretta said, he would be very glad to see more and more Chinese enterprises to settle down in Venice and promote the local and Italian economy. The projects of the ports in Venice would bring the chances to Chinese enterprises, while the economic cooperation would surely strengthen the friendship between Chinese and Italian people. In the capacity of Vice Minister of Italian government, he would provide the related service and assistance for Chinese enterprises to settle down in Italy and expected the Commission to spare no effort to recommend the projects and chances of economic cooperation in Italy to Chinese entrepreneurs. Mr. ZHANG Yi expressed his gladness of undertaking this work.
