At 11 pm of April 22nd, 2015, Mr. ZHANG Yi went to the Federal Foreign Office and met with Mr. Frank Hartmann, Head of East Asia Division and his colleagues, Mr. Jonatan Weinberg and Mr. Hannsgeorg Beine.

Mr. ZHANG Yi extended his gratitude for the reception by Mr. Frank Hartmann and his colleagues. He introduced the significant meaning of China’s policy of building the Belt and Road and the ensuing potential cooperation between China and Germany. Afterwards, he presented in details to the host the background and purpose of preparing the international forum with the topic of building core areas of the Belt and Road, which would be held in September of this year.

Mr. Frank Hartmann remarked, the Federal government of Germany consistently valued the bilateral relationship between Germany and China and expected China’s policy of building the Belt and Road to reinforce the friendship and mutual understanding between German and Chinese people. He believed that the international forum prepared by the Commission might enable more people to understand China’s policy.

The meeting concluded amid the friendly atmosphere.
