At 1 pm of April 23rd, 2015, Mr. ZHANG Yi visited German National Academy of Science and Engineering (acatech) and met with Dr. Oliver Pfirrmann, Head of Unit Technologies of acatech and Dr. Dirk Vetter, Scientific Officer. Both parties were engaged in the discussion on the issue of carrying out cooperation.

Mr. ZHANG Yi at acatech

Founded in January, 2008, German National Academy of Science and Engineering (acatech) is the most prestigious academic institution in the field of engineering in Germany. With the intellectual support from academicians, acatech carries out the strategic research on the important issues of engineering technologies and presents the consultation for the decision-makers. The present presidents of acatech are Prof. Dr. Reinhard F. Hüttl and Henning Kagermann. The world-famous concept of Industry 4.0 is under the guidance of acatech.

Dr. Oliver Pfirrmann expressed his welcome to the visiting of Mr. ZHANG Yi and his companion. He introduced the basic facts of acatech to the guest. As one of the top academic institutions of Germany, acatech is consisted of General Assembly, Executive Board and Senate. Academicians, the main body of acatech are those famous scientists and engineers from higher institutions and research institutes in Germany.

Mr. ZHANG Yi extended his gratitude for the reception by Dr. Oliver Pfirrmann and his colleague. He remarked, on the basis of the previous communication, the purpose of this special visiting to acatech was to have the joint discussion on the issue of seeking the best way of combining closely German technologies and Chinese market in order to bring forth the win-win result. Mr. ZHANG Yi said, Chinese people and enterprises readily recognized German technologies. During the process of carrying out field investigations in China, the Commission has known the fact that many Chinese local governments showed great interest in introducing German technologies into their regions, while many Chinese enterprises expected the potential cooperation with German counterparts in the field of Industry 4.0. The Commission intended to construct an information platform that integrated German industrial technologies and the market demands of China and become the coordinator in the related projects, especially in the field of Industry 4.0. The Commission was looking forward to the cooperation with acatech in the above-mentioned field.

Dr. Oliver Pfirrmann recognized the efforts the Commission had made and had known the concrete plan of the Commission further. He pointed out that the administrative authority of acatech was in charge of the work of organizing, coordinating and recommending the related cooperation and expected to explore the best way of realizing the process of transferring German technologies to China in the future potential cooperation with a view to promoting wider usage of German technologies in China in order to achieve the win-win situation.

Afterwards, Mr. ZHANG Yi introduced the international forum with the topic of building core areas of the Belt and Road and the symposium on the intelligent manufacturing that would be held by the Commission and invited acatech to attend the meetings. Dr. Oliver Pfirrmann indicated his interest in the meetings and was willing to find the best way of participation after having known the further details.
