At 8 pm of April 23rd, 2015, Mr. ZHANG Yi visited the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy of Germany and met with Ms. Gerlind Heckmann, Head of Division and her colleague, Ms. Claudia Koppel.

Mr. ZHANG Yi extended his gratitude to the reception by Ms. Gerlind Heckmann and her colleague and introduced the purpose of this visiting to the host. The Commission was willing to become the information platform for the economic cooperation between China and Germany and play the role of the coordinator for the cooperation projects. The Commission expected to receive the support from the concerned parties of Germany.

Ms. Gerlind Heckmann expressed her welcome to the visiting of Mr. ZHANG Yi and his companion and appreciated the Commission’s effort of actively promoting the economic cooperation between Germany and China. In the meanwhile, she introduced and explained the concept of Industry 4.0 of Germany and its future trend of development.

Mr. ZHANG Yi discussed with Ms. Gerlind Heckmann on the issue of carrying out the cooperation between Chinese and German enterprises in the field of Industry 4.0. He remarked, the Commission intended to assist Chinese enterprises in learning from the concept of Industry 4.0 and adopting the related technology with a view to becoming the exemplar, which would proceed to be the future standard of manufacturing in China. Afterwards, he elaborated on the background and purpose of preparing the international forum with the topic of building core areas of the Belt and Road, which was expected to be held by the Commission in September of this year.

Ms. Gerlind Heckmann remarked, it was an important step for German and Chinese enterprise to know the specific demands of the counterpart and to seize the chances of cooperation by virtue of holding the international forum. She expected the international forum held by the Commssion to enable more and more foreign companies to understand the chances of cooperation brought along the construction of the Belt and Road.
