Mr. ZHANG Yi and Mr. Christophe Gimenez

EU-China Cultural Creativity HeadquartersBase is jointly constructed by the Commissionand ZhongRong Holdings Group. The Base aims to attract the cultural, tourist centers and chambers of EU member countries and the Chinese Offices of functional departments of EU Headquarters to settle down with the purpose of establishing the creativity-oriented headquarters base between China and EU, which adopts the reciprocal interaction between financial capital and cultural creativity as the means in order to fulfill the expectation of the harmonization between multiple cultures.

Mr. Gimenez was greatly impressed by all the facilities of the Base during his field investigation. He remarked, to hold international conferences in such a place characterized with the style of European gardens would inevitably enable European attendants to feel warm. Mr. ZHANG Yi held that one of the functions of the Base was to become a platform for the intellectual interaction between Europe and China through the work of holding international conferences of all sorts; the Commission expected to hold the forums organized by OHIM in the Base in the future and wished the Base to be the venue for the related activities organized by OHIM and Trade Section of Delegation of the European Union in Beijing. Mr. Gimenze pointed out that, since the Commission had become the official agent of OHIM, he would like to join hands with the Commission to hold all the activities concerning IP issues in China and promote the service of OHIM to Chinese people and enterprises. Mr. ZHANG Yi said, the Commission would be happy to promote the consciousness of IP protection among Chinese people and enterprises in collaboration with OHIM by virtue of the partnerships and networking accumulated over the years since the Commission’s entry into China; the Commission expected to boost the development of the intellectual economy of China through the work of introducing European standard and reference models into China. In the meanwhile, Mr. ZHANG Yi expected that, on the basis of the work of providing EU IP protection service to Chinese enterprises with OHIM, the Commission carry out the further cooperation with the related functional departments of EU Headquarters and provide the one-stop service to those Chinese enterprises that wished to enter European market by virtue of the technical support from the commodity certification to the legal consultation.
