The Commission as the Co-Organizer of 2015 Songshan Forum

2015 Songshan Forum will be held on September 12th and 13th in Dengfeng, Henan Province. Songshan Forum is hosted by China International Culture Exchange Center, Chinese Society of Cultural Relics, Institute for Advanced Humanistic Studies at Peking University, Central China Real Estate Limited (China) and Foundation for the Inheritance and Innovation of Chinese History and Civilization (Henan, China) with the Commission, Henan Daily Newspaper Group as Co-Organizer, and Songshan Forum Secretariat, Center for International Cultural Exchange of Henan as Organizers.
“Songshan Forum: On Chinese and World Civilizations” is the high-level international cultural forum held in China and has become the window of external exchange for the Central Plains Economic Zone (Henan), the platform for the dialogue between world civilizations and the important carrier of international culture exchange. Songshan Forum aims to enableSongshan Mountain to become a sacred place for the scholars to adore, a spiritual home for the Chinese around the world to yearn for, and a cradle for nurturing people and new ideas. In 2011, Songshan Forum made its debut; in 2015, it has held its fourth annual conference. The theme of 2015 Songshan Forum is “Harmony through Diversity: Collectively Constructing a Community Rooted in the Shared Fate of Humanity”.
After the productive communication and negotiation, the Commission has been invited to become the Co-Organizer of 2015 Songshan Forum and assumed the mission to invite the Delegation of Cosenza Province of Italy to attend the event. Italian Delegation will carry out the discussion with Chinese attendees around the issue of “One Belt and One Road” cooperation between China and Italy. The Commission and Italian Delegation expect to celebrate the 45 anniversary of establishing the diplomatic relations between China and Italy through the down-to-earth and practical cooperation projects at Songshan Forum. The participation of the Commission in Songshan Forum has added new elements to the Forum, which will be positive for its enhancement of branding in the world. The Commission stands ready to accumulate the experiences on the basis of successful holding of 2015 annual conference and will screen the high-quality European resources and projects concerning the economic cooperation and cultural exchange in line with the actual demands of the Central Plains Economic Zone (Henan), which will surely boost the economic development of Henan. The Commission will be dedicated to the effort of providing intellectual support for Henan in its implementation of “One Belt and One Road” Strategy.

At 5 pm of September 10th, 2015, the Delegation of Cosenza Province of Italy arrived in Zhengzhou, the Capital of Henan Province and would attend 2015 Songshan Forum with the Commission as the Co-Organizer. The Commission and Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs Office, Henan Provincial People’s Government came to receive Italian Delegation at Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport and made the presentation concerning basic facts of Henan Province and Songsahn Forum to Italian guests at the VIP Room of the Airport.
Cosenza Province is in the south of Italy with a long history and scenic landscape. Cosenza is the important distributing center for agricultural produces and the important site of light industry as well. The Commission invited Italian Delegation to attend 2015 Songshan Forum and jointly decided the name list of 10 delegates with the concerned party on the basis of full negotiation for this event. The Delegation is headed by Mr. Mario Occhiuto, President of Cosenza Province with Mr. Roberto Albano, Chief Secretary of Cosenza Province as the Deputy Head. Besides the major officials of Cosenza Provincial Government, there are Mr. LuiginoFilice, Vice Dean of Calabria University, Mr. Maurizio Orrico, International Artist and CEOs in the fields of tourism and architecture, food, sustainable farming, innovation technology and energy in Italy. The Delegation is consisted of the Delegates from political, academic, art and enterprise sectors. The purpose of Italian Delegation is to promote friendship between Italy and China through the down-to-earth and practical projects concerning economic cooperation and cultural exchange and to offer suggestions and advices for the Chinese policy, “One Belt and One Road” from European perspective.
The Chinese working staffs extended their welcome to the Delegation and briefed the basic facts of Henan Province and Songshan Forum to the guests. Mr. Mario Occhiuto presented the history and the concerned facts of Cosenza Province as well. He remarked, Italian Delegation treasured the chance of meeting the potential partners from China and expected to set up the efficient cooperation mechanism between Cosenza Province and Zhengzhou City with a view to realizing win-win situation against the background of “One Belt and One Road” strategy and exploring the innovative models for economiccooperation and cultural exchange between Europe and China.
After the short meeting, Italian Delegation went to Dengfeng by car and took their residence at the hotel.
