On the night of September 11^th, 2015, Mr. ZHANG Yi met with Mr. Mario OCCHIUTO who headed Italian Delegation to attend 2015 Songshan Forum at the invitation of EUCNC.

Mr. Mario OCCHIUTO is the President of Cosenza Province of Italy and he assumes other posts as well, such asPresident of Commission of Structural Cohesion and South Development of National Associations of Italian Municipalities, Member of the Management Board of the Italian Union of Provinces, Member of Italian Central Government-Municipalities Conference and Central Government-Regions Conference. Mr. Mario OCCHIUTO is also the famous architecture designer and has carried out many important projects of architecture and urban planning in China.

Italian Delegation with Mr. Mario OCCHIUTO as the Head is consisted of ten Delegates from the Provincial Government, university and enterprises. They are Mr. Roberto ALBANO, Chief Secretary of Cosenza Province, Mr. Giuseppe FUNARO, President of Cosenza Agency for Energetic and Environmental Development, Mr. Luigino FILICE, Vice Rector of University of Calabria, Mr. Vincenzo PATI, mOas CEO, Mr. Maurizio ORRICO, the international artist, Mr. Sergio AIELLO, SAM Evolution CEO, Mr. Francesco VECCHIO, Gardapraineto CEO, Mr. Gennaro GRECO, BGPG CEO, Mr. Mirko TUCCI, Head of Technical Department of Municipality of Rota Greca.

Mr. ZHANG Yi extended his welcome to Italian guests from afar. He remarked, 2015 is the 45^th anniversary of establishing the diplomatic relation between China and Italy and in this year, the Chinese government has promulgated Vision and Actions on Jointly Building Silk Road Economic Belt and 21st-Century Maritime Silk Road. Songshan Forum that is being held in Dengfeng, Henan Province will be a good opportunity for Italian Delegation to explore the cooperation of all sorts between China and Italy, from which Chinese and Italians will surely benefit. Mr. Mario OCCHIUTO owed his gratitude to the invitation issued by Mr. ZHANG Yi in the capacity of Executive Chairman of EUCNC. As the President of Cosenza Province, he felt obligated to assume the mission of promoting economic cooperation and cultural exchange between Italy and China in order to strengthen the mutual friendship. He expected to reach consensus concerning many cooperation projects with Henan Province in the following two days and wished for the successful holding of 2015 Songshan Forum.

Songshan Forum

Songshan Forum is the initiative action undertaken by Henan Province to build the Inheritance and Innovation of Chinese History and Civilization Zone. Songshan Forum: On Chinese and World Civilization is the general theme. Every year, symbolic figures of all civilizations, cultures and religious groups from the world, the academic leaders, the great statesmen home and abroad, best brains of the governments, and CEOs from high-end cultural enterprises come to Songshan and are engaged in the dialogue around the annul topic. Besides the discussion on the academic topics concerning spiritual humanism, there will be the Seminar of Economic and Trading Cooperation between China and Italy along the Belt and Road, Songshan Forum Investment Promotion Event for the International Eco-Culture Demonstration Zone, and the Seminar of Cultural Cooperation and Exchange between China and Italy along the Belt and Road. The positioning of Songshan Forum, which is “Cultural Exchange, Cultural Research, Academic Achievement Exhibition, Talent Training and Industrial Development” has become more explicit. The role the Forum will play in the work of strengthening the external exchange of Central Plains Economic Zone will be further exhibited.
