On November 2^nd, 2015, Mr. ZHANG Yi was invited to visit Kaifeng City of Henan Province and met with Mr. JI Bingwei, Secretary of Kaifeng Municipal Committee of Communist Party of China. Both parties have reached the consensus on the potential cooperation.

Mr. ZHANG Yi detailed his work since October, 2014 when he assumed the post of Executive Chairman of the Commission. He remarked, the Commission would introduce European high-quality resources for the development of Kaifeng City and promote the cultural exchange and economic cooperation between Kaifeng and European Member States in the down-to-earth spirit.

Mr. JI Bingwei extended his welcome to Mr. ZHANG Yi. He said, Kaifeng, an ancient city with such a long history and remarkable culture needed more chances to present her charms to Europe and the world. He expected the Commission to bring more chances concerning the cooperation with European countries to Kaifeng, through which Kaifeng would participate in the Belt and Road construction in a new way.

Mr. ZHANG Yi introduced the achievements of 2015 Songshan Forum with the Commission as the co-organizer as well. He said, the fact proved that cities of EU Member States were quite eager to construct a more direct and efficient cooperation platform with Chinese cities. They would like to activate the actual demands on both sides and realize the win-win through the tangible projects of cultural exchange and economic cooperation in order to strengthen the friendship. Henceforth, the Commission, China International Culture Exchange Center and Cosenza Provincial Government of Italy have been actively carrying out the work of constructing the new platform for the cooperation between Chinese and European cities, which would provide a new cooperation window for Kaifeng as well.

Mr. JI Bingwei owed thanks to Mr. ZHANG Yi’s words and expected to carry out the cooperation with the Commission in multiple fields. Afterwards, both parties to exchange the opinions on the specific topics and reached the consensus of potential cooperation.
