Mr. ZHANG Yi Meets with Project Manager of WorldSkills Foundation

On November 14th, Mr. ZHANG Yi met with Ms. Grace LUNG, Project Manager of WorldSkills Foundation and specified the road map of the cooperation as for the joint efforts of setting up World Skills Innovation Center.

WorldSkills was established in 1950 with International Vocational Training Organization as its precursor, which was later renamed as World Skills International. Registered in the Netherlands, World Skills has 72 members up to June, 2014. WorldSkills holds WorldSkills Competition every two years, which is rated as the Olympic game for vocational skills and has the great social influence. At present, WorldSkills is actively promoting the Innovation Lab in the world. The first and only Innovation Lab was set up in Singapore in 2013.


The Commission has carried out the full communication as for the proposal of jointly setting up the first WorldSkills Innovation Lab within the territory of Chinaand reached the definite intention of cooperation. Mr. ZHANG Yi further explained the efforts the Commission had made to promote Innovation Lab in China. Ms. LUNG extended her gratitude to the Commission’s efforts and indicated her willingness of cooperation in order to see the birth of Innovation Lab in China as early as possible. Afterwards, both parties developed the clear picture as for the future division of labor. The Commission would be responsible for the work of choosing cities for Innovation Lab and the following work, while WorldSkills is responsible for the coordination work of branding and expertise.
