On December 15^th, 2015, Mr. ZHANG Yi was invited to visit Guilin and met with Mr. ZHOU Jiabin, Mayor of Guilin City. Both parties discussed on the issue of the cooperation between Guilin and EU Member States.

Mr. ZHOU Jiabin extended the warm welcome to Mr. ZHANG Yi and introduced the current economic and social situation of Guilin City. As the world-renowned tourist city, Guilin has made great achievements in various fields with the supports from the higher-level governments. All of these have laid the solid foundation for the further development of Guilin. Mr. ZHOU Jiabin expected the Commission to introduce European high-tech and eco-friendly enterprises to Guilin in order to realize the sustainable development of the City, which would surely boost the economic development of Guilin, the tourist city.

Mr. ZHANG Yi expressed his thanks to the warm hospitality of Guilin Municipal Government. He remarked, the purpose of his visiting was to introduce European high-tech industrial resources to Guilin. Afterwards, Mr. ZHANG Yi made the detailed presentation of the work of the Commission in 2015 and the accumulated high-quality resources that served to promote Sino-European sci-tech innovation cooperation. He explicitly pointed out that, against the background of Sino-European urbanization cooperation, the Commission was willing to work with Guilin City in order to boost the local economy by adopting the advanced ideas of urban development and technologies from European cities.

During the meeting, Mr. ZHANG Yi and Mr. ZHOU Jiabin carried out the further discussion as for the issues of tourist industry and cultural exchange. Both parties have the clear intention of mutual cooperation and expect to develop the detailed road map of cooperation.
