On February 23^rd, 2016, EU-China Winter Sports Cooperation Symposium was successfully held at the International Press Hall of Beijing GehuaKaiyuanHotel. The event was jointly organized by the Commission, EU-China Winter Sports Alliance and was undertaken by Europe-China Winter Sports Alliance Co., Ltd. The event also received the supports from ISPO of Germany and Compagnie des Alps of France. The purpose of the event was to select the series of the best European winter sports resources, ranging from various projects, professional organizers, and industrial cooperation to equipment, facilities and talent training etc. to serve Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics.

Mr. ZHANG Yi and European Guests

European and Chinese guests who attended the event were involved in the whole industrial chain of winter sports. There were European guests from ISPO, Compagnie des Alps, Djurgarden Club, Peak Innovation, Burson-Marsteller, Altor Fund, TENSSON and Rossignol etc., all of them were well-known because of their high-level performance in the professional sectors. Chinese guests were from the winter sports circle as well including the manufacturers of the concerned equipment and facilities, constructors and managers of the winter sports ground, and the managers of the comprehensive winter sports industry companies etc.

 Mr. ZHANG Yi and Ms. LI Zhaoling

Ms. LI Zhaoling, Vice President of All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese was invited to attend the event. Mr. ZHANG Yi reported to Ms. LI Zhaoling all the activities the Alliance has organized to facilitate Chinese and European winter sports cooperation and serve Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics. He indicated his willingness of selecting European high-quality resources to promote people-to-people communication along the build-up work of “One Belt and One Road” by virtue of the advantages of the platform of the Commission and the momentum of successful bidding for Winter Olympics. Ms. LI expressed her gladness at Mr. ZHANG’s efforts and expected him to lead the team and make greater contribution. Mr. SU Yong, Vice President of Beijing Returned Overseas Chinese Federation and Ms. ZENG Xu, President of Beijing Chaoyang District Returned Overseas Chinese Federation were present at the meeting before the event.

The event was comprised of two sessions, namely the cooperation symposium and the press conference. Mr. ZHANG Yi, Executive Chairman of the Commission and President of the Alliance firstly delivered the speech and clarified the mission of the Alliance to the friends from all the circles, which was to organize all the concerned parties to choose the concrete projects of winter sports event cooperation, sports service, branding cooperation between China and Europe as the entry points. The Alliance would introduce the advanced ideas and high-quality resources of Europe to China in order to improve the winter sports organization and the concerned service and further promote the winter sports in China. To serve Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics was the ultimate mission of the Alliance.

Mr. SU Yong is delivering the speech

Mr. SU Yong, Vice President ofBeijing Returned Overseas Chinese Federation was invited to make an address as well. He expressed his remarks on the positive significance of the event and said, there would be abundant opportunities within the framework of right timing, right location and right people as for the winter sports cooperation between China and Europe.

The Head of Executive Director of the Alliance made the detailed presentation of the series of the resources with the coverage of three aspects, the training of winter sports players, the promotion of the sports culture and the joint development of distribution channel. The Alliance would rely on European training base in Munich, Germany and the world-level winter sport coaches to provide the services for the professional players of China. In the meanwhile, the Alliance would join hands with Sweden Royal Olympic Peak Innovation and serve Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics by virtue of the service of physical test and training for athletes. The Alliance would select the related resources in the world and lay down the long-term partnership plan of the sponsorship and scholarship for the professional athletes. The purpose was to bring the tailor-made professional development for the athletes while improving their competing skills.

The Presentation of the Gift from the Representative of European Guests to Ms. LI Zhaoling

European guests who attended the event indicated their strong willingness of carrying out the winter sports cooperation along with Chinese counterparts and chose the representative of Peak Innovation to present the gift to Ms. LI Zhaoling. The representative invited Ms. LI to head the delegation to visit Sweden and have the field investigation in due time. Ms. LI Zhaoling gladly received the invitation.

The Alliance would also jointly hold the various charity activities with Chinese partners and provide the chances for Chinese children to enjoy the play on the ice. Along with the promotion of the team spirit, these activities would be accompanied with the moral lectures of the life. The Alliance would organize the series of activities in order to further Chinese children’s understanding of European winter sports. With Ms. LI Zhaoling, Mr. SU Yong and Mr. ZHANG Yi as witnesses, Chinese and European partners had signed the cooperation agreements in the field of charity activities and in-depth sports industry collaboration. All the guests had exchanged their cooperation intention to the full with their counterparts.

The Alliance would head all the Chinese and European parties to jointly develop the cooperation channel. The Alliance would integrate the online and offline retailing resources into one platform and bring in high-level branding and winter sports suppliers in order to realize the two-way marketing on the basis of the fulfillment of the cooperation. At the same time, the Alliance would introduce the creative materials and smart commoditytechnology to China with a view to providing the related services for the upgrading of Chinese manufacturing industry. The Alliance would bring in the advanced technologies of European winter sports ground and present the one-stop service plan for the winter sports event venues in China.

Mr. Martin Kössler from Peak Innovation, Mr. Johan Lövqvist from TENSON and Mr. BIAN Qingfeng from Taishan Sports Industry Group delivered their speeches in succession, in which they voiced their vision as for Chinese and European long-term partnership for Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics.

The Partnership for EU-China Winter Sports Industry Development Fund

At the event, many partners had reached the consensus and signed the cooperation agreement. Europe-China Winter Sports Alliance Co., Ltd signed the partnership agreement with the local partner and jointly raised the special fund to serve Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics and the development of winter sports in China through the mobilization of capital at home and abroad.

The Commission signed the strategic partnership agreement with Taishan Sports Industry Group and specified the cooperation in various fields.

EU-China Winter Sports Alliance, Europe-China Winter Sports Alliance Co., Ltd and the local partner had signed the strategic partnership agreement. The concerned parties would start with winter sports events for children and train the youth talents for the incoming 2022 Winter Olympics.

Mr. WANGHailin, Deputy Mayor of Laoling City of Shandong Province was invited to make a summary of various achievements that had been reaped at the event. He expected the present guests at home and abroad to make their own contributions to the successful holding of Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics.

The event also received the strong support from German, British and French commercial chambers in China. They sent the important representatives to attend the event and discussed with the concerned parties as for the innovative cooperation avenues with the winter sports as the entry points.

Amid the thunderous applauses from Chinese and European guests, EU-China Winter Sports Cooperation Symposium came to conclusion.
