The Delegation Headed by Executive Chairman ZHANG Yi Visits KTH Royal Institute of Technology

On March 18th, 2016, Executive Chairman ZHANG Yi was invited to head the Delegation of INESA to visit KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm. The Delegation met with Mr. Johan Blaus, KTH Business Liaison and Project Manager, Mr. Mikael Skoglund, Professor of Communication Theory and Vice Dean ofKTH School of Electrical Engineering, and Ms. Olga Kordas, Acting Director of KTH Energy Platform. Both parties have explored the possibility of technological cooperation in various fields.

KTH Royal Institute of Technology is the oldest technological university in Sweden. Since 1827 when it was established, KTH is one of the important centers of educating the innovative and technological talents in Europe. KTH enjoys a prestigious reputation in the world.


Mr. Johan Blaus firstly extended his welcome to Chinese guests and made a brief but comprehensive presentation concerning the history of KTH, its current situation, organizational structure and the sci-tech innovation cooperation. He remarked, KTH had a good connection with China and there were many Chinese students studying here. He believed that the strong capability of KTH in the sci-tech innovation would boost the development of China.


Ms. Olga Kordas then expounded Strategic Innovation Agenda for Smart Sustainable Cities in details, which was conducted by KTH. She introduced the definition that KTH had set for Smart City and the related technological preparation. She also made the presentation of the interactive cooperation among the academic research and the industrial circles. She said, KTH had carried out the cooperation with the Municipal Government of Stockholm as for the development of smart city and the accumulated experiences could serve as the useful reference for the future development of smart city in China. 


Mr. Mikael Skoglund made the presentation of KTH School of Electrical Engineering. He said, in line with the progress of the current technology, Information and Communication Technology had entered various engineering fields. KTH owned the unique advantages in this aspect and had constructed the ecological circle of industry, R & D with ICT as the center, through which KTH could take the lead in the future sci-tech innovation.


After the presentation of KTH officials, Mr. ZHANG Yi specified the purpose of this visiting. He said, Chinese enterprises of today were at the phase of upgrading their own technologies and improving their competitiveness. Chinese enterprises had the strong needs of carrying out the cooperation with European technological institutions. Since KTH had made the remarkable achievements in the related field, this fact urged the Commission to actively promote the cooperation between KTH and famous Chinese enterprises, among which INESA was the excellent one.


Mr. YU Jiangang, Vice President of INESA extended his gratitude to the warm reception of KTH officials. He made the presentation of the history and current situation of INESA. INESA is one of the benchmark enterprises in the fields of instrument and electronic devices in China. INESA is the company with a long history and the powerful strength in the related fields. In 2015, Shanghai Electric Tool Research Institute (SETRI), the national-level institute with the history of nearly 60 years had been one part of INESA. Mr. YU Jiangang concurrently assumes the post of Chairman of the Board of SETRI. Mr. YU remarked, INESA was actively promoting the construction of smart city in Shanghai and was quite willing to carry out the full cooperation as for the definition of smart city and the concrete implementation technology and projects. Mr. YU’s proposal had received the positive feedback from KTH officials.


Mr. ZHU Qiang who was from SETRI and was Member of the Delegation of INESA made the detailed presentation of the current situation of technological R & D of SETRI. He said, the advanced technologies KTH had possessed were relevant to the current research of SETRI. SETRI was willing to carry out the concrete cooperation with KTH as for the specific technology and projects.


The actual technological needs and open attitudes of the Delegation of INESA had aroused the great interest of KTH officials. They said, KTH would make a list of technologies that could be the cooperation projects with INESA and KTH would actively explore various possibilities of carrying out the in-depth cooperation. Mr. Ramon Wyss, Vice President of KTH in charge of international cooperation would visit Shanghai in April; then the concerned parties could reach the consensus on the cooperation.


Mr. ZHANG Yi extended his congratulation to the concerned parties. He remarked, INESA and KTH had the intention of cooperation as for sci-tech innovation, which could surely serve as a reference example for those Chinese enterprises that would like to improve their competitiveness and realize the substantial progress through the technological advantages of foreign institutions. The Commission would follow this case and ensure the successful technological cooperation between KTH and INESA. The Commission would like to be the pioneer of cultivating the virtuous interaction among the international NGO, Chinese enterprises and the top technological universities of Europe with a view to improving the welfare of Chinese and European people through the high-quality technology.
