On March 22^nd, 2016, Executive Chairman ZHANG Yi was invited to head the Delegation to visit Venice International University (VIU) and reached the consensus as for sci-tech innovation and educational exchange with Mr. Alessandro Costa, Head of Strategic Development and International Cooperation of VIU.

VIU was established in 1995 and is the innovative alliance with 15 top universities including Tsinghua University and Tongji University in the world as its members. VIU is on the Island of San Servolo and is just 10 minutesof boating away from San Marco Plaza, the center of Venice. Since 2003, VIU has carried out the cooperation with China National Commission of Development and Reform, Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Environmental Protection and Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and provided the high-level training in the field of sustainable development in line with the actual situations of China. VIU has shared the advanced experiences of foreign countries in sustainable development, cultural heritage protection, industrial management, aging issue and social welfare and contemporaryart with China through its globalized course designing.

Mr. Alessandro Costa extended his welcome to Chinese guests. He introduced that VIU attached the importance to China and had provided the training service to more than 10 thousands of Chinese professionals of different circles over years. VIU had accumulated rich experiences in this field and was capable of providing more individualized training support to new Chinese partners.

Mr. ZHANG Yi expressed his thanks to Mr. Costa’s warm hospitality. He remarked, VIU had become the important carrier of Sino-Italian people-to-people communication. Considering the strong suits of Italy in the fields of sustainable development technology, industrial designing, cultural heritage protection technology, the Commission would be actively engaged in the work of promoting the further cooperation between VIU and the concerned authorities of China.

Mr. YU Jiangang, Vice President of INESA said, smart city was the important component of the concept of the global sustainable development and the municipal development, while one of the main lines of INESA was to provide the comprehensive solution plan for smart city. Since the managementauthorities of Chinese cities needed to know the latest concept and significance of smart city and VIU had successful training cases of sustainable development, VIU was expected to provide the intellectual service to the management authorities of Chinese cities in accordance with actual situation of China.

Mr. Alessandro Costa said, VIU was looking forward to cooperating with more and more Chinese partners. He was quite willing to see that more and more Chinese friends of different circles came to Venice, not only having the chances of enjoying the most stunning beauty in the world, but also being updated with the latest information at VIU. Mr. ZHANG Yi said, the Commission would further the cooperation with VIU and create the condition for Sino-Italian people-to-people communication.

With Mr. Alessandro Costa as the guide, Mr. ZHANG Yi and his companions visited the beautiful campus of VIU.
