On April 8^th, 2016, Executive Chairman ZHANG Yi was invited to attend 2016 Sino-Swiss Economic Forum and had the full exchange of views as for the effort of deepening Sino-Swiss sci-tech innovation cooperation along with Swiss partners who attended the event as well.

Sino-Swiss Economic Forum was established in 2008 and now it is the largest economic summit between Switzerland and China which will take place every two years in Beijing. It features top speakers from the Swiss and Chinese government and business community, who give the insightful guidance for the bilateral economic cooperation.

Mr. Johann N. Schneider-Ammann, President of Switzerland Federal Councilor who was on the State visit to China attended the Forum and delivered the welcome speech on the topic of “Connectivity for Innovation: the Sino-Swiss Dimension”. Mr. ZHONG Shan, Vice Minister of Commerce also made a speech concerning the effort of deepening Sino-Swiss innovation cooperation. In the wake of the speeches by high-ranking leaders of two countries, there was a panel discussion. Mr. WANG Hongzhang, Chairman of China Construction Bank, Mr. Peter Voser, Chairman of ABB, Mr. MEI Meng, Chairman of TusHoldings and Mr. Christoph Mader, Executive Committee of Syngenta held the summit dialogue around the sci-tech innovation cooperation between China and Switzerland. Their opinions had greatly enlightened the attendees with the important messages and remarkable inspiration.

During the Forum, Mr. ZHANG Yi exchanged his views to the full with Mr. Jean-Jacques de Dardel, Ambassador of Switzerland to China as for the issue of promoting Swiss enterprises to participate in the effort of upgrading Chinese industries and improving competitiveness. Mr. ZHANG Yi made the detailed presentation of the preparatory work undertaken by the Commission and invited Mr. Jean-Jacques de Dardel to head the delegation of Swiss entrepreneurs to have the site visiting in due time. Mr. de Dardel appreciated the down-to-earth working style of the Commission and expressed his willingness of carrying out the in-depth cooperation.

Mr. ZHANG Yi also met with Mr. Peter Voser, Chairman of ABB and Mr. Christoph Mader, Executive Committee of Syngenta. The concerned parties had exchanged the views as for the future tangible cooperation and indicated their willingness of implementing the concrete action as for the specific cooperation project against the background of Sino-Swiss innovation partnership.

Mr. ZHANG Yi and Mr. Frank-Jurgen Richter, Chairman of Horasis, the partner of the Commission had formulated the road map as for the joint effort of holding the high-level forums in Europe and China and decided the action plan as for the in-depth cooperation as well.
