The Strategic Partnership between the Commission and SIP International Sci-Tech Innovation Center

On May 12th, 2016, Chairman ZHANG Yi signed the Strategic Partnership Agreement with Mr. YU Jiqiang, Deputy Director of Science & Technology Development Bureau of Suzhou Industrial Park Administrative Committee (SIPAC). Both parties will carry out the in-depth cooperation in the field of China-Europe sci-tech innovation work and jointly set up EU-China (Suzhou) Sci-Tech Financial Center with a view to exploring the new avenues and channels for the sci-tech innovation of SIP, even Suzhou City.

At the meeting before the signing ceremony, Mr. YU Jiqiang extended his welcome to the delegation headed by Mr. ZHANG Yi. He remarked, after several rounds of the meeting and negotiation, SIPAC Science & Technology Development Bureau recognized the fact that the Commission had possessed the wide connection of European sci-tech resources. He said, SIPAC was quite willing to rely on the platform of the Commission to achieve the two-way cooperation between SIP and European partners. Mr. ZHANG Yi said, this worthy visiting just matched the reputation of SIP. After the field investigation, the Commission had the full confidence in the work of bringing more high-end European resources to SIP, which would enable SIP to guide Chinese scientific parks, industrial parks to embark on the road of reform and development in the new age.

 

Mr. ZHANG Yi and Mr. YU Jiqiang exchanged their views as for the following road map of cooperation and reached the consensus of establishing EU-China (Suzhou) Sci-Tech Financial Center (the Center). The Commission would mobilize resources of multiple aspects including European regional governments, science & technology, finance, industries and universities to construct the innovative cooperation model between China and Europe along the main thread of sci-tech finance. Mr. YU Jiqiangrecognized the positioning and planning of the Center and indicated that SIP International Sci-Tech Innovation Center would actually participate in the preparatory work of the Center. Henceforth, both parties had formulated the definite road map of the next move.

EU-China Sci-Tech Financial Center will become the platform on which European and Chinese cities can construct the new interactive cooperation. In line with the market principle and by virtue of the power of capital value, the Center will accelerate the R & D process of high technologies and their utilization in the global market. The Center will further the regional development of the concerned European and Chinese sisterhood cities through the down-to-earth cooperation projects that benefit Europeans and Chinese.

 

EU-China Sci-Tech Financial Center joins hands with European and Chinese partners from regional governments of Europe, public sectors, sci-tech divisions, financial circles, industrial spheres and universities. The Center is the transborder open platform, which is open to any potential partners devoted to the cause of furthering the mutual understanding between Europeans and Chinese.
