On September 30^th, 2016, Chairman ZHANG Yi was invited to attend National Day Reception held by Beijing Returned Overseas Chinese Federation and celebrated the 67^th anniversary of the foundation of P. R. China along with distinguished guests. Mr. ZHANG Yi held the discussion with Ms. LI Zhaoling, Vice President of All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese and Mr. RONG Yang, President of Beijing Returned Overseas Chinese Federation as for the current work of ECMDC.

On September 30^th of every year, Beijing Returned Overseas Chinese Federation will hold the National Day Reception, and invite leaders of overseas Chinese to celebrate the National Day together. Leaders of overseas Chinese from different countries who attended the event proudly reviewed the achievements China had made in the past year, and confidently expected the economy of China to take new strides in the following year.

At the event, Mr. ZHANG Yi introduced the current work undertaken by ECMDC to Ms. LI Zhaoling, Vice President of All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese who appreciated the achievements ECMDC had made so far. Mr. ZHANG Yi remarked, ECMDC adhered to the national policy of “Mass Innovation, Mass Entrepreneurship” of China, and made the in-depth investigation of the actual demands of the concerned local governments. Henceforth, ECMDC had integrated a series of high-quality resources into the package service deal, which would be provided in line with the actual demands of the concerned regions. He also reported that ECMDC had reached the consensus with UNESCO to jointly set up UNESCO-China Sci-Tech Innovation and Education Center, which would serve as the cooperation platform between China and foreign countries in the fields of sci-tech innovation and education. Ms. LI Zhaoling expressed her gratitude to what ECMDC had done for the improvement of Chinese sci-tech innovation and education. She said, All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese is not only the home to all the overseas Chinese, but also the incubator for those high-quality projects through which overseas Chinese served the motherland. She indicated her willingness of providing the assistances within her ability in implementing the current work of ECMDC, and establishing the UNESCO-China Sci-Tech Innovation and Education Center. Mr. ZHANG Yi reciprocated her words with gratitude. He believed that the sound credibility and good reputation of All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese would surely facilitate the steady progress of all the work of ECMDC.

Mr. ZHANG Yi introduced the preparatory work of China-EU Municipal Development Forum to Mr. RONG Yang, President of Beijing Returned Overseas Chinese Federation and Ms. ZENG Yu, President of Beijing Chaoyang District Returned Overseas Chinese Federation. Mr. ZHANG Yi said, ECMDC intended to turn the Forum to be the important brand of Sino-European people-to-people communication and the name card of Beijing external exchange. He expected to receive the support from Beijing Municipal Government and Chaoyang District Government. Mr. RONG Yang and Ms. ZENG Xu remarked in succession that Beijing Returned Overseas Chinese Federation and Beijing Chaoyang District Returned Overseas Chinese Federation would actively participate in the preparatory work of the Forum. They would submit the proposal of the Forum to Beijing Municipal Government with a view to turning the Forum to be the new window for the external exchange of Beijing. Mr. ZHANG Yi expressed his tanks and further defined the time table of the concerned work.

In the meanwhile, Mr. ZHANG Yi exchanged his views concerning the tangible cooperation with the leaders of overseas Chinese from different countries who attended the event. These leaders indicated their strong will of participating in all the projects undertaken by ECMDC. They were ready to mobilize their resources to support these projects. Mr. ZHANG Yi said, ECMDC opened its arms to welcome friends from all circles who wanted to jointly enhance the welfare of Chinese and European peoples through various projects.
