On December 17^th, 2016, Chairman ZHANG Yi, Deputy Secretary General HU Zhenming, Ingrid JIANG, Chair of the Board of EU-China Municipal Development Project Management Co., Ltd held the joint meeting with the officials of Ningbo Education Bureau, Ningbo Dongqian Lake Tourist and Holiday Resort Administrative Committee and Ningbo Huamao Group in Ningbo. Mr. SHEN Jianguang, Director General, Mr. HE Qide, Deputy Director General of Ningbo Education Bureau, Mr. YE Jisong, Director, Mr. SU Shaomin, Deputy Director of Ningbo Dongqian Lake Tourist and Holiday Resort Administrative Committee, and Mr. XU Wanmao, Chairman of the Board, Mr. XU Lixun, CEO of Ningbo Huamao Group attended the meeting. The four parties carried out the evaluation of the international forum which would be held in October, 2017. The concerned parties developed the road map and time table as for the next move. Mr. HUANG Zhiming, Deputy Secretary General of Ningbo Municipal Government gave the further advices as for the consensus that the four parties had reached at the meeting in the hope of ensuring the smooth organization of 2017 forum.

The Joint Meeting

Mr. ZHANG Yi firstly introduced the concept note and background of 2017 Ningbo international forum. He said, on the occasion that China was implementing the policy of “Deepening the Reform, Broadening the Opening-up”, how to gather the international high-quality resources to spur the industrial upgrading and the supply side reform was just the urgent action that the local governments of China would take in order to better the economic situation in the following years. Against this background, ECMDC intended to unite with all the concerned parties to hold the international forum which was focused on “sci-tech innovation” and “education”, two driving forces of the municipal development with a view to invigorating the economic development of the concerned cities or regions with new dynamics through the international cooperation. According to the recommendation of ECMDC, the forum would be held in Ningbo.  

Mr. HU Zhenming elaborated on the mission and purpose of the forum. The central theme of the forum was “Sci-Tech Innovation, Education and Municipal Development”, which was consisted of three aspects, namely, “the Innovative Cooperation between China and International Organizations”, “International Sci-Tech Innovation Cooperation and Municipal Development” and “International Education Cooperation and Municipal Development”. The forum would be focused on the positive interaction between China’s “One Belt One Road” Initiative and the international community. The forum aimed to turn the international high-quality resources to the down-to-earth cooperation projects, and embark on the innovative journey that would combine the summit meeting with the operative projects. 

Mr. SU Shaomin, Deputy Director of Ningbo Dongqian Lake Tourist and Holiday Resort Administrative Committee remarked that ECMDC and the Committee had discussed the feasibility of holding the high-level forum in 2015 in order to enhance the reputation of Dongqian Lake and introduce the international high-quality resources into the region. After the full evaluation over two years, the concerned parties finally could sit down to discuss the concrete time table with the optimized international resources. The Committee would spare no efforts to make the full preparation for the forum in the capacity of the future organizer, and ensure the successful holding of the forum in 2017. The Committee expected to witness that the international high-quality resources in the fields of sci-tech innovation, cultural creation and education would be introduced to Dongqian Lake through the platform of the forum, which would enable Dongqian Lake to be the charming city with the scenic landscape and dynamic green economy. 

Mr. XU Wanmao, Chairman of the Board of Ningbo Huamao Group said, Huamao Group was dedicated to the educational cause over decades, and was actively exploring the road of development with its own distinctive features. Huamao Group now had Ningbo Huamao Foreign Language School and Ningbo Huamao International School. Recently, Huamao Group’s Dongqian Lake International Education Forum Complex came into being after ten years of planning and construction. With the follow-up construction, there would be a huge complex that integrated the international forum hall, the matched international hotel, museum and art workshops into one entity at Dongqian Lake. Huamao Group had worked with ECMDC for two years and exchanged the views to the full concerning the international high-level forum. Henceforth, Huamao Group was looking forward to 2017 international forum in Ningbo, and would make its own contribution to the international cooperation of China’s education. 

Mr. SHEN Jianguang, Director General of Ningbo Education Bureau aired his opinion on the concept note of 2017 Ningbo international forum submitted by ECMDC. He said, the supply side reform in China’s education was unfolded, and the Chinese government recently issued the special program in order to promote “One Belt One Road” Initiative in the aspect of educational cooperation, which encouraged all the social sectors in China to actively participate in the Initiative from the perspective of education. Therefore, it would be very meaningful if an international high-level forum that integrated sci-tech innovation and education into one entity could be held in Ningbo, which could introduce international high-quality resources and potential partners to Ningbo and jointly promote the international cooperation of China’s education with the coverage of the Yangtze River Delta Region. Ningbo Education Bureau would be actively engaged in the preparatory work of 2017 forum. 

Mr. YE Jisong, Director of Ningbo Dongqian Lake Tourist and Holiday Resort Administrative Committee said, Dongqian Lake was the name card of Ningbo City. Dongqian Lake with the scenic landscape was the ideal place for the global leaders to exchange their views on the world and inspired the future with their wisdom. The high-level forum would be well-matched for Dongqian Lake, which could become the platform and window for the international cooperation of Ningbo City. The Committee was consistently dedicated to the internationalization of the brand of Dongqian Lake, and expected the forum to attract more high-quality projects to settle down in Dongqian Lake. He said, the Committee hoped that Dongqian Lake become the highland of the global thinking, international cultural exchange, economic cooperation and sci-tech innovation through 2017 international forum. The Committee would be fully engaged in the preparatory work of the forum as well. 

Ms. Ingrid JIANG, Chair of the Board of EU-China Municipal Development Project Management Co., Ltd (ECMDPM) said, the concerned parties held the active and positive attitudes toward 2017 international forum, which was the foundation of the steady progress of the forum. As one of the organizers of the forum, ECMDPM would carry out the various aspects of the preparatory work along with the partners in order to ensure the successful holding of 2017 international forum. Mr. XU Lixun, CEO of Ningbo Huamao Group said, Huamao Group would spare no efforts to ensure that 2017 international forum become the one with the international influence.  

Mr. HUANG Zhiming, Deputy Secretary General of Ningbo Municipal Government managed to find time to attend the joint meeting, and gave the further advices as for the forum. He said, the concerned parties should present the more detailed action plan for the forum in order to ensure the sustainable development of the forum, which would gradually become the famous brand of global forum with great international influence. 

At the end of the joint meeting, the concerned parties jointly developed the road map and the time table for the next move.
