On December 28^th, 2016, the First Cooperation Conference of Tourist Development jointly hosted by ECMDC and Beijing New Dimension Culture and Tourism Holding Group was successfully held in Beijing. Chairman ZHANG Yi delivered his speech, and elaborated on the directions of the future Sino-European tourist development and cooperation, which had received the positive feedback from the audiences.

The First Cooperation Conference of Tourist Development Platform aimed to tackle three problems which consistently existed in the process of China’s tourist development, namely, the dislocation between the tourist planning and the actual operation, the governmental investment and the development of the market, the corporate investment and the financial returns. The Conference expected to integrate all the components along the tourist development and operation chain into one entity, and provide the one-stop service in order to actualize win-win among all the concerned parties. Therefore, ECMDC, Beijing New Dimension Culture and Tourism Holding Group and other partners jointly organized this Conference, and discussed with more than 200 partners as for the best road map of the package deal for the tourist development.

In his speech, Mr. ZHANG Yi remarked that the tourism had played the increasingly important role in the effort of boosting the local economy and enhancing the social welfare. On the occasion that the current Chinese tourist industry was confronted with so many problems during the process of the development, it was the necessity and the right timing for the concerned parties to jointly discuss the road map for the sustainable development of tourist industry. Therefore, ECMDC intended to bring to the full play the cooperation platform of being the European NGO, and introduce the international high-quality resources to China. ECMDC would actualize two-way cooperation between Europe and China in order to combine successful European tourist development and management experiences with the actual needs of China’s market, and combine the European urbanization experiences with the construction of small towns with distinctive features in China. ECMDC expected to turn these projects to be the model project for Sino-European urbanization cooperation. The speech of Mr. ZHANG Yi had received the positive feedback from the audiences. In the ensuing high-level dialogue, Mr. ZHANG Yi further explained the functions of ECMDC, and indicated his willingness of implementing the in-depth cooperation with the friends and partners of China’s tourist industry in order to jointly construct Sino-European people-to-people tourist cooperation mechanism.

There were more than 200 tourist industry partner units in China with 500 people at the Conference. ECMDC intended to further internationalize the cooperation platform on the basis of the successful holding of the First Conference. In the future, ECMDC would head a European delegation with the coverage of the whole tourist industry chain to meet Chinese counterparts with a view to exploring Sino-European people-to-people tourist cooperation.
