On the basis of previous communication, ECMDC and CSE carried out the further discussion as for the best method of integrating international high-quality sci-tech innovation education resources into the actual demands of China’s education. Both parties reached the consensus of implementing the international cooperation, and jointly exploring the innovative model for the pioneering education. ECMDC and CSE would establish the strategic partnership on the following concrete cooperation projects, namely, the joint holding of Ningbo International Forum, International Young Maker Olympic Competition, the formation of China Sci-Tech Innovation Education Alliance, and the construction of international sci-tech innovation education town with unique features.

Mr. ZHANG Yi, Mr. HU Zhenming and Mr. YANG Nianlu (Left Two), Mr. FANG Yunjia (Left One)

The Chinese Society of Education (CSE) was founded on April 12th, 1979 and is the national educational institution in China with the longest history and the largest scale since the foundation of P. R. China. Over more than thirty years, CSE has established the professional organization system with the full coverage of basic education disciplines and areas. With 54 branches, 174 member units and more than ten thousands of individual members, CSE is the most powerful educational association in China with the great influence.

At the meeting, Mr. HU Zhenming made the brief introduction to the current progress concerning ECMDC’s sci-tech innovation education project. He said, ECMDC was mobilizing international high-quality sci-tech innovation resources, which would be introduced into China in order to support China’s industrial upgrading and supply side reform. In the meanwhile, ECMDC attached great importance to the cultivation of creative thinking capabilities for Chinese teenagers. On November 10th, 2016, ECMDC and UNESCO had signed the Letter of Agreement and would jointly implement Microscience Programme, one of International Basic Sciences Programme of UNESCO in China. ECMDC would establish the two-way exchange mechanism of sci-tech innovation education between China and international organizations on the basis of the execution of Microscience Programme. Henceforth, ECMDC would love to establish the strategic partnership with CSE and provide the services for the improvement of sci-tech innovation competence of Chinese teenagers.

Mr. HU Zhenming said, in accordance with the previous communication, ECMDC sincerely invited CSE to be the sponsor of Ningbo International Forum, which would be held in November, 2017; ECMDC would work with CSE to turn the present Chinese Young Maker Olympic Competition to the future International Young Maker Olympic Competition; ECMDC would like to be the founder of China Sci-Tech Innovation Education Alliance, which was created by CSE, and bring IBSP of UNESCO, European sci-tech innovation education resources into the Alliance as well; ECMDC would work with CSE to construct international sci-tech innovation education town with unique features.

Mr. YANG Nianlu extended his gratitude to the previous work undertaken by ECMDC as for the down-to-earth cooperation. He said, the global educational sector was experiencing the great changes. The wide application of new technologies was not only changing social life, but also promoting the reform of educational ideologies. CSE was actively preparing for these changes. On the one hand, CSE was popularizing sci-tech innovation education through the competition; on the other hand, CSE established China Sci-Tech Innovation Education Alliance in order to facilitate the reform concerning the system of education courses and the studying model. New reform ushered in new concepts. Along with foreign counterparts, CSE was working out its own solution to the improvement of the quality of scientific education. Since European countries took the lead in scientific education, CSE would like to work with ECMDC and actualize win-win cooperation. In the principle of mutual benefits, Mr. YANG Nianlu explicitly stated that CSE would participate in the preparatory work of Ningbo International Forum, and become the sponsor of the Forum; CSE would like to work with ECMDC to carry out the cooperation concerning International Young Maker Olympic Competition, China Sci-Tech Innovation Alliance, and international sci-tech innovation education town with unique features. CSE would establish the strategic partnership with ECMDC on the basis of the implementation of these projects.

Mr. ZHANG Yi expressed his welcome to the positive feedback from Mr. YANG Nianlu concerning the proposal for the cooperation between ECMDC and CSE. He said, CSE was shouldering the great mission of heading the future development of China’s sci-tech innovation education. Education was consistently a social comprehensive project, which was in need of the concerted efforts from all the social sectors. Therefore, ECMDC stood ready to make full use of its function as the European NGO, and introduce European high-quality scientific education resources into China. ECMDC and CSE would jointly create an open platform on which the educational, technological, industrial and financial resources could converge to forge the synergy. ECMDC and CSE were determined to present China’s solution plan to STEM education, which would serve as the reference for foreign counterparts. ECMDC would make full use of every opportunity to publicize the cooperation projects with CSE in Europe and select the best European partners. ECMDC and CSE would jointly develop various international cooperation projects, which would broaden the visions of Chinese teachers, and enhance Chinese students’ competence of participating in the global governance in the future. The cooperation between ECMDC and CSE had a brilliant future ahead.

Mr. FANG Yunnian congratulated CSE and ECMDC on the consensus of cooperation. He said, the effort of implementing China’s sci-tech innovation education itself should be open and pioneering. It should not be expected to be struck in the old rut. Since CSE was the national institution for Chinese teachers, it was very necessary for CSE to work with ECMDC, the European NGO to improve the competence of internationalization. Amid the communication between partners from different sectors, great inspiration would sparkle. In the shared ideas and objectives, the cooperation between CSE and ECMDC would surely be win-win.

Afterwards, Mr. ZHANG Yi and Mr. YANG Nianlu defined the road map and time table for the next move. The down-to-earth cooperation between ECMDC and CSE commenced.
