At the meeting before the signing ceremony, Mr. YANG Nianlu extended his welcome to the delegation headed by Mr. ZHANG Yi. He remarked, within one short month, CSE and ECMDC had held the several rounds of discussion as for the issue of cooperation. Both parties had defined the consensus and their respective roles in the cooperation. At the very beginning of the spring season in 2017, CSE and ECMDC would sign the strategic partnership agreement and be determined to usher in the brilliant win-win future. Amid the excitements for the cooperation, both parties should take the concrete measures to substantiate the proposals and provide the complementary support to each other during the process of international cooperation. Both parties would devotedly make their contribution to the development of China’s STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) education.

Mr. ZHANG Yi expressed his gratitude to Mr. YANG’s words and the positive attitude of CSE as for the mutual cooperation. He said, as the European NGO, ECMDC made the full use of its function as a platform and gathered various sorts of European high-quality STEAM education resources. ECMDC was in need of the partnership with CSE, the authoritative institution in China to maximize the value of European high-quality resources. Therefore, ECMDC would play its role well, and work with CSE to jointly select international high-quality STEAM education resources in line with the actual demands of the development of China’s education in order to provide the support for the supply-side reform in education. In the meanwhile, ECMDC and CSE would make the good summarization of the achievements China had made in STEAM education, and provide the solution with Chinese characteristics to the global education reform within the framework of “One Belt One Road” Educational Move.

At the meeting, both parties had carried out the detailed evaluation as for the items of cooperation, including the joint holding of UNESCO-China Sci-Tech Innovation and Education Forum. Both parties established the working mechanism and set the time table as well.

After the signing ceremony, the first spring snow of 2017 fell in Beijing, which brought the auspicious signs and blessing for the cooperation between ECMDC and CSE.
