On the morning of March 17^th, 2017, Chairman ZHANG Yi, Deputy Secretary General HU Zhenming were invited to visit the Chinese Society of Vocational and Technical Education (CSVTE), and met with Mr. LIU Zhanshan, Executive Vice-President and Secretary General of CSVTE, Ms. PAN Ming, Head of the General Office of CSVTE. Both parties were engaged in the in-depth discussion concerning the joint efforts of promoting Sino-European vocational and technical education cooperation, and reached the consensus of full cooperation between ECMDC and CSVTE.

The Chinese Society of Vocational and Technical Education (CSVTE) was founded in December, 1990 and is the national authoritative institution in the field of vocational and technical education under the guidance of the Ministry of Education of China. CSVTE assists the national authorities in the effort of implementing the national policies concerning the professional skills and capacity building through academic and practical activities.

Mr. LIU Zhanshan extended his welcome to the visiting of Mr. ZHANG Yi and his colleague. He made the detailed introduction to the current situation of vocational and technical education (VTE) in China and its development. He also presented the mission and functions of CSVTE. He remarked, China’s VTE is at the best period of development and has received the increasing attentions from government at different levels and the concerned parties of different sectors. In the course of industrial upgrading and supply side reform in China, to train the high-quality professional talents is the key to the effort of ensuring the success of implementing national policy “Made in China 2025”. Since Europe has developed its mature and successful VET system, there are many things Chinese educators can learn from European counterparts. Henceforth, CSVTE welcomes ECMDC to come to discuss the potential cooperation.

Mr. ZHANG Yi expressed his gratitude to the all-round and detailed presentation by Mr. LIU Zhanshan. Mr. ZHANG Yi also indicated his great admiration for Mr. LIU’s passion and devotion to the cause of China’s VTE. He said, in the process of promoting Sino-European economic cooperation and sci-tech innovation, ECMDC puts the talent training on the top priority. To train the excellent professional talents is to lay the foundation for the development of high-end manufacturing industries in China, which will become the core competitiveness of China. Therefore, ECMDC has worked out Sino-European High-end Manufacturing Industries Talent Creative Training Program along with the local governments of EU Member States, European professional associations and the circles of Chinese finance and industries. ECMDC is willing to join hands with CSVTE to choose the special fields and colleges to undertake the pilot experiments, and mobilize all the concerned social resources to actualize the great leap of China’s VTE in quality.

Mr. HU Zhenming made the detailed presentation of European high-quality resources ECMDC has gathered. He said, over two years of field investigation and business negotiation, ECMDC has reached the consensus of cooperation with the international organizations, EU Member States, European professional associations and colleges. In the near future, ECMDC will work with CSVTE to choose Sino-European High-end Manufacturing Industries Talent Creative Training Program as the pilot action, which aims to construct the creative model for Sino-European VTE cooperation through the international concerted efforts with mutual benefits. ECMDC and CSVTE will jointly mobilize all the concerned high-quality resources at home and abroad to promote the development of VTE in China.

Mr. LIU Zhanshan indicated his interest in various chances of cooperation between CSVTE and ECMDC. He appreciated the unique and irreplaceable value of those resources ECMDC has possessed. He said, CSVTE is willing to establish the close partnership with ECMDC and make contribution to the cause of China’s VTE.

Mr. ZHANG Yi and Mr. LIU Zhanshan reached the consensus of cooperation, and would prepare the strategic partnership agreement in order to open a new chapter of Sino-European VTE cooperation.
