On April 30^th, 2017, Chairman ZHANG Yi headed the delegation to visit Shun Fung Group and had the in-depth discussion with Mr. HE Guang, Chairman of the Board of Shun Fung Group as for the Sino-European winter sport project cooperation. At the invitation of Mr. ZHANG Yi, Mr. Hans d’Orville, Special Advisor to the Director-General of UNESCO, former Assistant Director-General for Strategic Planning of UNESCO and his wife, Ms. Mehri Madarshahi visited Shun Fung Group as well.

Shun Fung Group was established in January, 1990 and is one of the most famous restaurant brands in China because of its specialty of high-quality Cantonese seafood. With the steady progress, Shun Fung has diversified its business line and now has several subsidiary companies, namely, Shun Fung Investment Industrial Co., Ltd, Shun Fung Catering and Hotel Management Stock Co., Ltd, Beijing Shunjing Garden Real Estate Development Company and Beijing Shunjing Tourism Investment Development Co., Ltd. Shun Fung has carried many high-quality real estate projects in China and is the powerful comprehensive company in the related industries.

At the Meeting

At the meeting, Mr. HE Guang extended his warm welcome to the Delegation headed by Mr. ZHANG Yi. He said, the Chinese government is actively engaged in the promotion of winter sports in China and makes the full preparation for Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics. It will be very meaningful to explore the potential cooperation between China and Europe, the birthplace of the modern winter sports. Shun Fung Group is constructing the winter sports venue in Ling Mountain, which straddles Beijing City and Hebei Province. This project aims to be the best winter sports venue in China and even in the world. The Delegation will bring European high-quality cooperation projects to Ling Mountain Project, which is what Shun Fung is in urgent need of. The cooperation between Shun Fung Group and ECMDC will surely be win-win.

Mr. ZHANG Yi introduced that ECMDC is consistently dedicated to the efforts of promoting Sino-European sport exchange and cooperation. ECMDC intends to center on winter sports project cooperation and forge the synergy between Europe and China in the aspects of winter sports education, arts and technology in a systematic way. While supporting Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, ECMDC aims to construct Sino-European people-to-people communication platform. Since the official winter sports venues of Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics are located in Chaoyang District, Beijing and ECMDC is the key strategic partner to Beijing Chaoyang District Committee of CPPCC, ECMDC will work with the concerned department of Chaoyang District Government, and provide the full-length service for Sino-European winter sports cooperation.

Mr. Hans d’Orville and Ms. Mehri Madarshahi made the introduction to the advantages of European winter sports and the future cooperation projects. Ms. Mehri Madarshahi said, Ling Mountain Project of Shun Fung Group has a very promising prospect, so, it is very important to find the well-matched European cooperation resources for this Project. Alps of Europe is the important venue for the world winter sports, and the concerned European countries have developed the complete and systematic system of winter sports competition, education and industries. The smooth progress of the concerned cooperation will lay the solid foundation for the unique position of Ling Mountain Project in China and even in the world.

Mr. HE Guang expressed his gratitude to the introduction and suggestions provided by Mr. ZHANG Yi, Mr. Hans d’Orville and Ms. Mehri Madarshahi. He said, Shun Fung Group will establish the close partnership with ECMDC and jointly develop the Project bigger and better on the basis of Ling Mountain Project and the sport park in the downtown of Beijing City.

Mr. ZHANG Yi remarked, ECMDC will make the full use of its platform function, and work with Shun Fung Group to turn the winter sports cooperation project into the featured channel and platform of Sino-European people-to-people communication. Through the joint efforts, ECMDC is determined to make its own contribution to Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics.

After the meeting, the Delegation visited Shun Fung Sport Park, which is located in the downtown of Beijing City and in the process of construction to the accompaniment of Mr. HE Guang. Both parties have exchanged their views to the full as for the future positioning and layout of the Park.
