The Strategic Partnership between ECMDC and CSVTE

On May 18th, 2017, Mr. ZHANG Yi, Chairman of ECMDC and Mr. LIU Zhanshan, Managing Vice President and Secretary General of the Chinese Society of Vocational and Technical Education (CSVTE) represented their own organizations to sign the strategic partnership agreement. Mr. HU Zhenming, Deputy Secretary General of ECMDC, Ms. Ingrid JIANG, Chairperson of EU-China Municipal Development Projects Management Co., Ltd, and Ms. PAN Ming, Head of the General Office of CSVTE attended the signing ceremony, and witnessed the historical moment of Sino-European vocational education cooperation.

At the meeting prior to the signing ceremony, Mr. ZHANG Yi introduced his attendance at the Belt and Road Forum and the related activities from May 14th to 16th. Mr. ZHANG Yi said, one of the key components of the Belt and Road cooperation is the people-to-people communication including the educational cooperation. During these three days, Mr. ZHANG Yi has briefed the cooperation between ECMDC and CSVTE to senior officials and authoritative experts, who recognized the efforts of ECMDC and stood ready to provide supports. Mr. ZHANG Yi remarked, it is necessary to introduce the advanced ideas, projects and resources of vocational and technical education (VTE) from the developed countries to China with a view to enhancing the quality and level of the development of China’s VTE. In the meanwhile, it is meaningful to actively explore the method of exporting the advanced experiences of China’s VTE through various means in order to promote the development of VTE in those countries along the Belt and Road. ECMDC is actively engaged in the cooperation with the famous vocational colleges in China, and exploring the cooperation model with mutual benefits in order to actualize the strategic policy of the Belt and Road Educational Move.

 

Mr. LIU Zhanshan said, after several rounds of negotiation, CSVTE and ECMDC started with the consensus of cooperation, and today, both parties sign the cooperation agreement. This process is the embodiment of recognition as for the grounding of the current cooperation between both parties, and the embodiment of prospect as for the future down-to-earth cooperation and joint efforts of promoting the development of China’s VTE. CSVTE has prioritized the work of further promoting the international cooperation; henceforth, the partnership between CSVTE and ECMDC will greatly strengthen the internationalization capability of CSVTE and push forward the development of China’s VTE with striding progress.  

 

Signing the Agreement

 

Mr. Ingrid JIANG made the further presentation of the current projects undertaken by ECMDC within the framework of the Belt and Road vocational education cooperation. She said, clinging to the national policy of the Belt and Road Initiative, ECMDC has reached the consensus of cooperation along with local governments of China, vocational colleges at home and abroad, industrial investors etc. ECMDC is working with partners to pioneer the innovative way, which will promote the cooperation between Chinese and foreign vocational colleges in the aspect of talent training, and attract the industrial investors and enterprises to participate in the cooperation with a view to enhancing the local economy. This innovative way aims to forge the synergy among the local governments, professional associations, vocational colleges and commercial enterprises in order to actualize the harmonious and coordinated progress of production, education and research.

 

Mr. LIU Zhanshan and Ms. PAN Ming recognized the international cooperation projects of VTE undertaken by ECMDC, and remarked that CSVTE would mobilize its resources and utilize its advantages to provide the service and support to the implementation of the related projects. CSVTE is determined to work with ECMDC to turn the cooperation projects to the successful cases of “the Belt and Road” vocational education cooperation and development.

 

Afterwards, Mr. ZHANG Yi and Mr. LIU Zhanshan jointly signed the strategic partnership agreement. The cooperation between ECMDC and CSVTE officially comes into effect.
