The Strategic Partnership ECMDC and Beijing Chaoyang District Returned Overseas Chinese Federation

On June 15th, 2017, Chairman ZHANG Yi and Ms. ZENG Xun, President of Beijing Chaoyang District Returned Overseas Chinese Federation signed the strategic partnership agreement. Both parties will select and introduce European high-quality resources and projects into Chaoyang District in line with the actual demands of Chaoyang in the aspects of finance, high-tech industry, cultural creation industry and modern service industry. The joint efforts aim to serve the regional development of Chaoyang District within the framework of Sino-European cooperation on the Belt and Road Initiative. Ms. ZHAO Shanshan, Deputy Director General of Human Resources Department of China Returned Overseas Chinese Federation, Ms. HUANG Xiaowei, Head of United Front Work Department of CPC Beijing Chaoyang District Committee and other attendees at the 3rd Plenary Session of the 7th Beijing Chaoyang District Returned Overseas Chinese Federation witnessed the moment of signing the agreement.

Chaoyang District lies in the east of Beijing City with the territory area of 470.8 square kilometers and the permanent household residents of 3.84 million. Chaoyang District is the major region for the foreign affairs activities in Beijing, even in China. There are 160 foreign embassies in Chaoyang District, while UN organizations, international organizations are located here as well. 90% of foreign news agencies, 60% of foreign enterprises or their subsidiaries branches are gathered here. In 2015, GDP of Chaoyang District attained 464.02 billion RMB, which topped the list of GDP ranking among 18 districts of the whole Beijing City.

 

Mr. ZHANG Yi is the Advisor to the 7th Session of the Committee of Beijing Chaoyang District Returned Overseas Chinese Federation and the Committee Member of the 13th Beijing Chaoyang District Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference.
