On the afternoon of June 19^th, 2017, Chairman ZHANG Yi met with Mr. YANG Caiwang, Director General of Major Projects Department of China Central Newsreel and Documentary Film Group (CCNDFG) and Chief Editor of China Central Television (CCTV) Micro Film Channel. Mr. ZHANG Yi and Mr. YANG Caiwang reached the consensus of cooperation on the basis of the full exchange of views on the issues concerning Sino-European STEM education for the youth, Sino-European art exchange and the international film and television talent training. Both parties were determined to implement the cooperation projects, and jointly explore the new road for the Belt and Road people-to-people communication on reliance of the strengths on each party. Ms. Ingrid JIANG, Chairperson of EU-China Municipal Development Project Management Co., Ltd and Mr. MAO Songhe, Deputy Director of CCTV Micro Film Channel attended the meeting as well.

China Central Newsreel and Documentary Film Group (CCNDFG) was established in 2010 with the approval from the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television of China. CCNDFG is consisted of China Central Newsreel and Documentary Film Studio and Beijing Scientific Education Film Studio. Established in 1953, China Central Newsreel and Documentary Film Studio is the only professional institution of newsreel and documentary film production in China. It records the development of New China in films. In 1993, it was absorbed into China Central Television and become the professional newsreel and documentary film production center of CCTV.

Established in 1960, Beijing Scientific Education Film Studio is the largest scientific education film production base in China. It has made remarkable contribution to the cause of publicizing scientific knowledge and promoting scientific culture through its films concerning agriculture, science, technology, culture and education. On the basis of two prestigious studios, CCNDFG has developed the complete business chain of film and television industry with a view to becoming the film and television culture base with the worldwide reputation. CCTV Micro Film Channel is directly affiliated to CCNDFG, and is the distribution platform for the original film and television products in the form of micro film. 

Mr. YANG Caiwang extended his warm welcome to Mr. ZHANG YI and Ms. Ingrid JIANG. He made the detailed introduction to the history and current situation of CCNDFG. He remarked, as the national film and television production unit, CCNDFG actively participates in the Belt and Road Initiative, and is determined to become the bridge serving people-to-people bond through excellent film and television products. Henceforth, CCNDFG is quite willing to discuss with ECMDC how to jointly promote Sino-European people-to-people communication through various cooperation projects.

Mr. ZHANG Yi expressed his thanks to the good will of Mr. YANG Caiwang. Then, Mr. ZHANG Yi made the presentation of promoting Sino-European people-to-people communication in the aspects of Sino-European STEM education for the youth, Sino-European art exchange and the international film and television talent training. ECMDC is working with Natural Science Sector of UNESCO to implement scientific education program and plans to organize International Youth Science-Technology Innovation Competition with its strategic partners the Chinese Society of Education and China Soong Ching Ling Foundation. ECMDC also discusses the cooperation with China Central Conservatory of Music and China National Theater for Children in order to promote Sino-European art exchange through music and children’s theater. ECMDC works with European and American partners to jointly promote international film and television talent training with a view to establishing Hollywood Tribute Academy in China, and implementing British film talent training program and British Film Institute Academy training program.

Mr. ZHANG Yi said, CCNDFG is the largest scientific education film production base in China, which means that CCNDFG is the perfect partner for STEM education cooperation. In the meanwhile, CCNDFG is expanding its business scope concerning film and television production, and has CCTV Micro Film Channel, which means that ECMDC and CCNDFG have the potential cooperation in the aspects of art exchange and international film and television talent training.

Mr. YANG Caiwang pointed out that the resources possessed by ECMDC are what CCNDFG is looking for, while the planning of ECMDC is the work CCNDFG is undertaking. The prospect for the cooperation between two parties is brilliant. Ms. Ingrid JIANG Chairperson of EU-China Municipal Development Project Management Co., Ltd made the further introduction to the ongoing projects of ECMDC, and aired her vision on the cooperation between ECMDC and CCNDFG.

Mr. ZHANG Yi and Mr. YANG Caiwang reached the consensus as for the future in-depth cooperation, and jointly drew out the road map and time table for the follow-up.
