The Seminar on Sino-European Science-Technology Innovation Cooperation

On August 2nd, 2017, Chairman ZHANG Yi headed the delegation to attend the Seminar on Sino-European Science-Technology Innovation Cooperation, which was held by Beijing Chaoyang District Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) in Wangjing Sci-tech Park. Mr. ZHANG Yi introduced to Mr. WANG Wenyuan, Vice Chairman of Beijing Chaoyang District Committee of CPPCC the achievements ECMDC has made in the aspect of facilitating Sino-European science-technology innovation cooperation and the intention of introducing the advanced German equipment as the optimal solution to the issues generated during the process of the construction of Chaoyang District. Senior officials of Beijing Chaoyang District Committee of CPPCC, the decision-making team of EU-China Municipal Development Project Management Co., Ltd and heads of the concerned authorities of Wangjing Sci-Tech Park attended the seminar as well.

At the seminar, Mr. ZHANG Yi made the detailed introduction to the efforts of ECMDC in facilitating Sino-European science-technology innovation cooperation within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative. He remarked, the core issue of the Belt and Road science-technology innovation cooperation is to find the convergence of the interests of different parties. At present, China is steadily promoting the economic transformation and industrial upgrading, which generates a strong demand for the introduction of advanced technologies into China and the ensuing joint R & D. Europe possesses the advantages of science-technology research and has the demand of exporting its technologies into China’s market. It is a complementary cooperation for the concerned parties from China and Europe. ECMDC is actively promoting Sino-European science-technology innovation cooperation and has successful cases. Therefore, ECMDC is quite willing to introduce European high-quality partners to Wangjiang Sci-Tech Park in line with the actual demands of international sci-tech cooperation of Chaoyang District. In accordance of the municipal construction and development of Chaoyang District, ECMDC intends to introduce the equipment of German Arjes Company in order to table the optimal solution to the issue of dismantling the disused cars and building waste.
Heads of the concerned authorities of Wangjing Sci-Tech Park made the detailed introduction to Wangjing Sci-Tech Park. As the important zone of Chaoyang District, Wangjing Sci-Tech Park attracts the world-renowned companies and research institutions to settle down here. The Park expects to establish the partnership with more and more European high-quality resources. The Park highly recognizes the achievements ECMDC has made in the efforts of facilitating Sino-European science-technology cooperation, and intends to work with ECMDC to jointly develop the action plan for the related collaboration between the Park and European partners in line with the actual demands of the Park. Wangjing Sci-Tech Park is willing to establish the long-term mechanism with ECMDC and jointly set up the special entity to undertake Sino-European cooperation.
Afterwards, all the attendees were engaged in the topical discussion with the coverage of financial platform, technology transfer, science-technology innovation, incubator, cultural creation, entrepreneurship consultation etc. They aired their own insightful opinions as for the related topics.
Mr. WANG Wenyuan, Vice Chairman of Beijing Chaoyang District Committee of CPPCC concluded the seminar with his summary speech. He remarked, it is very meaningful to organize all the concerned parties to attend the seminar with the focus on specific issues. All the attendees are actively in presenting their own competences in order to jointly accomplish the mission they have shouldered. Mr. WANG expected all the attendees to redouble their efforts of turning the goodwill of cooperation into the fruitful action, and make their own contribution to the development of Chaoyang District.
The seminar came to end amid the thunderous applauses of the attendees.
