On August 25^th, 2017, Chairman ZHANG Yi and Mr. ZHANG Jian, President of the Council of Xuyi Economic Development Zone (XEDZ) signed the Strategic Partnership Agreement in Xuyi County of Jiangsu Province. ECMDC and its strategic partner, Power Construction Corporation of China (POWERCHINA) will work with XEDZ to implement the cooperation on Sino-German green industry and recycling economy. The concerned parties will introduce the advanced equipment of dismantling disused cars and treating construction waste, which is produced by Arjes GmbH, Germany into XEDZ. By virtue of this advanced equipment, the concerned parties will construct Sino-German Green Industry and Recycling Economy Park, and develop the Park to be Sino-European Green Industry and Recycling Economy Zone by stages. The joint efforts will boost the regional economy of Xuyi County with new dynamism and create a good showcase in Jiangsu Province.

Xuyi Economic Development Zone (XEDZ) of Jiangsu Province was founded in October, 2001. XEDZ is located in the east of Xuyu County with the ideal location and convenient communication. More than 500 companies have settled down at XEDZ and formed the industrial chain with the distinctive features. In April, 2006, XEDZ has been upgraded to be the provincial-level economic development zone. Over 11 years, XEDZ has been forging ahead in line with the national-level economic development zone and made the remarkable achievements in Jiangsu Province.

After several rounds of full exchange of views and negotiation, ECMDC introduces into XEDZ the advanced equipment of dismantling disused cars and treating construction waste of Arjes GmbH, Germany, whose exclusive distribution right in China is in the hands of the subsidiary company of ECMDC. ECMDC is working with its strategic partner, POWERCHINA to provide the solution to the issue concerning the widespread solid waste pollution, which is prevalent across China. To start with the introduction of Arjes equipment, ECMDC intends to work with POWERCHINA and XEDZ to construct Sino-German Green Industry and Recycling Economy Park, and systematically bring German green technologies and recycling economy industrial chain to Xuyi County. The concerned parties will be committed to the efforts of nurturing new economic dynamism in line with the competence of the advanced manufacturing industry of Xuyi County. With the steady progress of cooperation, ECMDC intends to introduce advanced technologies of other European countries into XEDZ, and construct Sino-European Green Industry and Recycling Economy Zone by stages. Mr. ZHANG Yi and Mr. ZHANG Jian reached the consensus that the partnership between ECMDC and XEDZ is the down-to-earth cooperation with mutual benefits. They are quite confident in the brilliant future ahead.

After the signing ceremony, Mr. ZHANG Yi met with Mr. LIANG Sanyuan, Secretary of CPC Xuyi County Committee. Mr. ZHANG Yi made the detailed introduction to the current work of ECMDC and European high-quality projects that could be brought to Xuyi County. Mr. LIANG Sanyuan remarked, Xuyi County is quite willing to keep the in-depth partnership with ECMDC, and intends to make the full use of the platform of ECMDC to open new channels for Xuyi County to participate in the Belt and Road construction cooperation between China and Europe. Mr. ZHANG Yi said, the mission of ECMDC is to facilitate Sino-European cooperation on urbanization; therefore, ECMDC will assist Xuyi County in the latter’s urbanization and the development of regional economy through high-quality cooperation projects between China and Europe.
