On August 31^st, 2017, Chairman ZHANG Yi headed the delegation to visit Tangshan City, Hebei Province. Mr. ZHANG Yi and senior officials of Tangshan Municipal Government held the in-depth evaluation concerning the issue of importing the product of German Arjes GmbH, the advanced equipment of dismantling disused cars and treating construction waste into Tangshan. Both parties undertook the assessment of constructing Sino-German Green Industry and Recycling Economy Park and jointly drew up the road map and timetable. With Mr. ZHANG Yi and Mr. WANG Jiuzong, Managing Vice Mayor of Tangshan Municipal Government, Mr. LIU Yuanping, Deputy Secretary General of Tangshan Municipal Government as the witnesses, EU-China Municipal Development Project Management Co., Ltd, the subsidiary company of ECMDC and Tangshan Federation of Supply and Marketing Cooperatives Group Co., Ltd signed the Strategic Partnership Agreement.

In accordance with the Agreement, EU-China Municipal Development Project Management Co., Ltd and POWERCHINA Equipment Research Institute Co., Ltd will form a consortium to work with Tangshan Federation of Supply and Marketing Cooperatives Group Co., Ltd to make the full use of the advanced equipment of Arjes GmbH, and avail themselves of the opportunity offered by the integration of Beijing City-Tianjin City-Hebei Province, the networking of Tangshan Federation of Supply and Marketing Cooperatives and the geographical advantages of Tangshan City in order to construct the guiding channels to serve the municipal development of Beijing City, Tianjian City and those cities of Hebei Province. The concerned parties aim to build the base of dismantling disused cars and treating construction waste with the exceptional showcase in the north of China. Ms. Ingrid JIANG, Chairperson of the Board of EU-China Municipal Development Project Management Co., Ltd, Mr. CAI Chunkui, Chairman of the Board of Tangshan Federation of Supply and Marketing Cooperatives Group Co., Ltd headed their respective teams to attend the meeting and the signing ceremony.

Tangshan City is situated in the northeastern part of Hebei Province in close proximity of Beijing City and Tianjian City. Ever since the 19^th century, Tangshan has been an industrial city with the important significance. Tangshan City is a phoenix reborn out of the nirvana of the great earthquake as well. Tangshan Federation of Supply and Marketing Cooperatives Group Co., Ltd is in charge of the related networking with the coverage of different business scopes,  and possesses the special qualification to undertake the business of dismantling disused cars and treating construction waste in China. 

At the Meeting

At the meeting prior to the signing ceremony, Mr. WANG Jiuzong, Managing Vice Mayor of Tangshan Municipal Government and Mr. LIU Yuanping, Deputy Secretary General of Tangshan Municipal Government extended their warm welcome to the visiting of ECMDC delegation. They elaborated on the positioning of Tangshan City and its future development. According to their introduction, with the steady progress of the integration of Beijing City-Tianjin City-Hebei Province, Tangshan City needs to absorb the industrial chains transferred from Beijng and Tianjin; in the meanwhile, Tangshan shall embark on the journey of green development in line with the national needs. Henceforth, Tangshan is seeking the high-quality resources at home and abroad in order to actualize the green and sustainable development of regional economy. The importing of Arjes products and the construction of Sino-German Green Industry and Recycling Economy Park, they will provide the solution to the issue of dismantling disused cars and treating construction waste within the region of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, while laying the foundation for Tangshan to absorb European advanced green technologies and recycling industries in due time. Undoubtedly, it will greatly promote the industrial upgrading of green and recycling industries in Tangshan. Therefore, Tangshan Municipal Government will spare no efforts to support the implementation of this cooperation project.

Mr. ZHANG Yi expressed his heart-felt gratitude to the full support from Tangshan Municipal Government. He remarked, Kailuan Coal Mine of Tangshan is linked with the modern industrial history of China. Ever since the 19^th century, Tangshan has been the important industrial city of China. The reconstruction after the Great Earthquake of 1976 revitalizes Tangshan, which lives up to the reputation of heroic city. ECMDC attaches the great importance to the cooperation with Tangshan, and has made the decision within the shortest time span to import the high-quality industry that matches the future development of Tangshan. Tangshan is in close proximity of two largest northern cities, namely Beijing and Tianjin, while the locations of dismantling disused cars and treating construction waste will be moved out of Beijing and Tianjin to other regions. The subsidiary company of ECMDC and POWERCHINA Equipment Research Institute Co., Ltd are willing to work with Tangshan Federation of Supply and Marketing Cooperatives Group Co., Ltd to make the full use of the industrial base of Tangshan with a view to developing the business of “Urban Mine” on the basis of dismantling disused cars. While the concerned parties are building the base of dismantling disused cars and treating construction waste with the exceptional showcase in the north of China, they will construct Sino-German Green Industry and Recycling Economy Park in due time. With the steady progress, they will absorb more and more advanced green technologies from European countries in order to construct Sino-European Green Industry and Recycling Economy Zone, which will boost the regional economy of Tangshan with new dynamism.

Mr. CAI Chunkui, Chairman of the Board of Tangshan Federation of Supply and Marketing Cooperatives Group Co., Ltd extended his welcome to the visiting of ECMDC delegation. He said, the Group is actively engaged in the comprehensive reform with the significant changes in the business scopes. Recycling business is the traditional business of the Group, which is the main business line as well. The Group aims to strike the firm root into its original business, enhance the development of the traditional business and actualize the development mode of modernized enterprises. Henceforth, the Group expects to rely on the global visions, advanced ideas, technological and political resources of ECMDC and its subsidiary company to open a new chapter of cooperation. Mr. CAI Chunkui remarked, the Group stands ready to work with ECMDC to create the first-rate modern green industry and recycling economy zone in the north of China.

The attendees discussed the details of the road map and timetable concerning the cooperation project, and aired their confidence in the brilliant future ahead.
